What comes to mind when you think of Cumbria? The Lakes…friendly people…and some of the UK’s most highly-rated customer service?

The Cumberland is helping to put Cumbria (and of course Lancashire and South West Scotland) on the map for exceptional customer service after winning two sought-after national awards.

People in Cumbria and beyond have reviewed their experience with The Cumberland via the independent review service Feefo, resulting in Gold Awards in 2019 and 2020 and leading to a prestigious Platinum Trusted Service Award for 2021.

In addition to this recognition from Feefo, The Cumberland is ‘punching well above its weight’ according to The Times – beating the likes of challengers Starling and Monzo to win the top spot in this autumn’s Times Money Mentor current account tables.

This Gold award in Customer Experience sees The Cumberland scoring above established heavyweights such as Nationwide – being placed second for customer happiness, second for complaints and fourth for customer trust in the UK.

Congratulating The Cumberland on winning this year’s award, Steph Heasman, Director of Customer Success at Feefo, commented: “The Trusted Service award has always been about recognising companies that are outstanding in customer experience and generate great feedback from happy customers.”

Chief executive Des Moore said: “Given that it is based purely on verified and genuine customer reviews, I believe this accolade is a true reflection of our commitment to making banking brighter through exceptional service.”

*Feefo is a leading review and customer insights technology company that provides businesses with the tools to collect real, purchase-verified reviews and insights.

A Gold Trusted Service Award is given to businesses who have collected 50 or more Feefo service reviews between January and December of the previous year, achieving a service rating of 4.5 and above. Platinum Awards are given to companies that achieve this rating in three consecutive years*
